2025–2039
Gen Beta Age Range
Generation Beta, or Gen Beta, is the newest generation, commonly described as people born from 2025 through 2039. The first members of Gen Beta turn 1 in 2026.
As of 2026, the first members of Gen Beta are between 0 and 1 year old.
What years are Gen Beta?
The 2025–2039 range comes from McCrindle Research, the Australian firm that also named Generation Alpha. Because Gen Beta is still being born, the age range above includes only the members born so far, and the end year is a projection rather than a settled boundary.
Most other researchers, including Pew Research Center, have not yet published their own Gen Beta range, so expect other definitions to appear over time.
Who are Gen Beta's parents?
McCrindle describes Gen Beta as mostly the children of younger Millennials and older members of Gen Z. In the U.S., that means the parents of Gen Beta were mostly born from the late 1980s through the early 2000s.
What researchers expect to shape Gen Beta
These are forecasts, not findings, but McCrindle expects several forces to define the generation:
- AI and automation built into school, work, health care and entertainment from the start of their lives.
- Climate change and population shifts, including aging populations and rapid urbanization, as background conditions of their childhood.
- Long lives. Many members of Gen Beta are expected to live into the 22nd century.
McCrindle projects that Gen Beta will make up about 16% of the world's population by 2035.
